Due to our continued success and growth, we are looking for a Tech Lead BI Consultant to join our team and make an impact in the fast-paced world of commodity trading.

Your role as Tech Lead BI Consultant

In the world of commodity trading, knowledge is power. DycoTrade’s BI solution provides clients with valuable insights that help them perform better, grow their revenue, and reduce risks. A successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of Business Intelligence solutions, product development, and data management, as well as proficiency in Microsoft tools including Microsoft Power BI, Power Platform, SQL Server, and Microsoft Fabric. This role involves consulting with clients, managing expectations, and delivering BI solutions that aim to enhance business growth and efficiency.

The consultant's responsibilities include leading client engagements, advising on BI strategy, and overseeing the implementation of impactful solutions. This position requires strong communication, project management, and leadership abilities to effectively manage complex BI projects and collaborate with senior stakeholders.

What we are looking for

As Tech Lead BI Consultant, you’ll help shape our new BI product: the DycoTrade BI Accelerator – a scalable solution for smarter reporting across finance, trade and logistics. You’ll contribute to the roadmap, challenge assumptions, and turn complex needs into productised solutions. The Tech Lead BI Consultant we are looking for is someone who thrives in a dynamic, international environment and is ready to lead a team of four senior BI developers and specialists eager to learn from you.

Responsibilities

    Leadership & Team Management

• Lead and mentor a cross-functional senior BI team.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.

BI Strategy & Roadmap

• Define and execute the BI strategy in alignment with organizational goals.
• Drive the development of scalable, future-proof BI solutions.
• Partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into a clear BI roadmap.

Data Architecture & Governance

• Oversee and design the optimization of data pipelines and semantic models for reporting and analytics.
• Enforce data quality, security, and compliance standards.

Stakeholder Engagement

• Act as the primary point of contact between business stakeholders and the BI team.
• Translate complex business requirements into actionable technical solutions and communicate BI insights to non-technical audiences.

Performance & Delivery Excellence

• Establish best practices for monitoring, troubleshooting of BI solutions.
• Ensure timely delivery of BI initiatives.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

• Stay current with industry trends, emerging BI tools, and Microsoft data ecosystem.
• Evaluate and introduce new technologies, methodologies, and frameworks to improve BI delivery.
• Promote data-driven decision-making across the organization.

You bring

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in Data Analytics and Power BI
  
• A strong technical profile: not just analytical, but comfortable working with data flows, pipelines, and modelling
  
• Hands-on experience working in a data warehouse environment, including building and maintaining models
• A proactive mindset and the confidence to lead a team of four senior BI engineers
  
• Proven ability to manage client expectations and engage effectively with business stakeholders
  
• Proficiency in product development processes and working with cross-functional teams
  
• Skilled in managing multiple BI projects and delivering results within scope, time, and budget
  
• Strong communication skills in English (Dutch is a plus)
  
• Experience in Microsoft Fabric and commodity or trade environments is a plus
